How do I get my grade?
Your grade will be an average of your "actual percentage" (see below) AND your commitment grade (see below) 50%-50%.
Your grade will be an average of your "actual percentage" (see below) AND your commitment grade (see below) 50%-50%.
Actual percentage
Shall be computed using the total of your homework grades (see below), quiz grades (see below), "B"-assignments (optional, see below) and "A"-assignments (optional - see below). |
COMMITMENT GRADE:
Should you complete all the "C" requirements, your commitment grade = 84%. Should you, additionally, complete the "B" requirements, your commitment grade = 92%. Complete all "C", "B" and "A" requirements, and your commitment grade = 100% What's the point? Read below! |
Why a COMMITMENT GRADE? I am all about the "effort". I understand that math, especially the level of Algebra 2 can be extremely difficult for some of you. This is why I choose to reward you with your commitment to getting things done, and trying your best! So, should your "actual percentage" not be that grand, your "commitment" grade will pull that percent up to a level that I believe you deserve.
Homework
10/10 just for completing it! I reserve the right to make you go back and try some problems again based on your level of understanding. |
Quizzes
Will be graded in a "normal" fashion. You must score a minimum of 45% or you will be required to attempt the section retake (see below). |
B-assignments
OPTIONAL! You only have to do them if you are interested in earning a grade of "B" or better. They are worth 25 points and will be graded as described in each assignment's instruction page. Ask me for that page should you wish to attempt it. One example is to complete 5 of 6 edpuzzle videos (see below). |
|
A-assignments
OPTIONAL! You only have to do one if you are interested in earning a grade of "A". They are worth 50 points and will be graded as described in each assignment's instruction page. Ask me for that page should you wish to attempt it (all A-assignments are optional). |
Quiz section re-takes:
You may attempt ONE section of any quiz a second time to improve your score. To ensure you will make an honest effort, should you do worse the second try, that score will be used. Any quiz you have scored less that 45% on, you MUST attempt the re-take.
